A San Antonio dentist for AARP and UnitedHealthcare Medicare dental benefits

Many AARP Medicare Advantage and UnitedHealthcare Medicare plans include dental benefits. We will check what your plan includes and help you use it.

UnitedHealthcare Medicare and AARP plans we accept

We are in-network for the dental benefits on many UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans, including AARP Medicare Advantage and UnitedHealthcare Dual Complete plans.

Medicare dental benefits are different on every plan. Bring your UnitedHealthcare card and we will check exactly what yours covers.

Making the most of Medicare dental benefits

Many Medicare Advantage dental benefits reset every year and do not roll over. If you have not used yours yet this year, a checkup and cleaning is an easy place to start.

Original Medicare (Parts A and B) usually does not cover routine dental care. Dental benefits normally come through a Medicare Advantage plan.

What dental plans usually cover

Every plan is different, but most PPO dental plans follow a similar pattern:

  • Preventive care, like exams, cleanings and X-rays, is often covered at or near 100%.
  • Basic care, like fillings and simple extractions, is usually partly covered.
  • Major care, like crowns, root canals and dentures, is usually covered at a lower percentage.
  • Cosmetic care, like whitening and veneers, is usually not covered.

Most plans also have a yearly maximum, and some have waiting periods for major work. We will look up the details of your plan for you.
